President Vincent_Wolff has confirmed to the Demarcian Inquirer that she will not be stepping down from the leadership of the Social Democratic Party and that she will make an attempt to fend off the challenge from Minister of Environment Jeskia and, as of today, Vice President GeorgeChambers, who has also thrown his hat in the ring.
"It's remarkable news, hearing that Demarcia is finally getting some new partakes into the political situation" the President noted, "I will confirm that I will run in this election as well. I believe that I know best what SDP stands for." Asked whether she believes she still has support among Social Democrats, "I certainly believe that I have the support of the SDP electorate, and that [I would] represent SDP better than Jeskia [would] do."
Vincent_Wolff has been Leader of the SDP since 4 July 2020. Since then, she has led the party through three general elections, two of which she won. She is the first female president of Demarcia.
