Brandin has officially announced he is stepping down from his position as Minister - Secretary of the Cabinet, citing his view that he no longer shares the President's vision as his reason for doing so, as well as a feeling that his counsel is not valued.

Turmoil is gripping the Red-Green Coalition Government as government ministers are reportedly losing confidence in the leadership of President Jeskia and in the long-term durability of the coalition between the Social Democratic Party and the Green Party. Reportedly, the government's instability is also a result of the announcement of an inquiry into the Novaland situation from half a year ago.

There are now speculations that Jeskia might not seek another term as President in a similar manner to how MikeBodwin had decided in January 2021. Brandin has been touted as Jeskia's most likely successor, given that he is currently her party's Deputy Leader and is the most prominent politician in the party who has not yet served as the party's Leader.

Bodwin Media, officially owned by Prime Minister MikeBodwin, is speculating that the PM could challenge Jeskia for the presidency in February 2022 should she decide to run, although it is considered unlikely if it would mean jeopardising the Red-Green coalition.

Currently, Demarcian politics is highly uncertain and it remains to be seen whether tensions will rise among the two governing parties, as they had back in July 2021, that ultimately might, yet again, lead to a long split and another bout of distrust between the two parties.
