Following about three days of negotiations, with the stroke of two pens, a coalition agreement has been reached between the Social Democratic and Green parties.
The two parties have agreed to form a coalition government together following the results of the May 2021 elections, with the agreement set to take effect on 15 May 2021, with the inauguration of President-elect GeorgeChambers. This agreement has been described as "historic" and a "cause for celebration" by Penstubal, the Secretary of the Social Democratic Party, who reportedly regards this as a true opportunity to "reshape Demarcia unlike ever before". The coalition, per the Statute of the Social Democratic Party, received the approval of the entirety of the party's Presidium, as well as the majority in the Committee.
Mr. hircine, the Leader of the Green Party, said that he is "looking forwards [sic] to work [sic] with the SDP and President GeorgeChambers" and stated that the negotiations "went smooth". Meanwhile, President-elect GeorgeChambers said that "it is indeed that Red roses go well with the Green leaves" and declared his hope that the coalition would bring a "better future to Demarcia".
