Brandin, former President of Demarcia and former Leader of the Social Democratic Party, has been suspended as a member of the party today after making a series of homophobic remarks at the beginning of Pride Month.
He called "transexuality" [sic] a "mental illness", said that Pride Month "should be abolished" and that LGBT people should "keep their bedroom affairs to themselves". The SDP's suspension of Brandin took place an hour and a half after the remarks were made.
Vercetti, Leader of the SDP, issued a statement saying that "Brandin's SDP membership is immediately suspended while we are pushing for a public apology to fix this things up. We, in the SDP don't tolerate such homophobic statements and even actions. We truly condemn those acts of inhumanities. We are a people of care and compassion, and those kinds of comments are not welcome anywhere."
Brandin is the first person in the party's history to be suspended.
