SDP to Rebrand as Democratic Alliance; Overshadowed by Jeskia Chaos

The Social Democratic Party is to become the Democratic Alliance, the party's leader JeskiaWeathers said in a press conference statement that was overshadowed by questions unrelated to the rebranding and asking her about her controversial presidency 10 months ago, during which she declared war on Hylix.
The press conference was off to a good start, with a large attendance. However, eventually, the press conference spiraled into chaos. When she announced the name change, the reactions were immediately negative - SuperMiron mocked the name as unoriginal, and admonished the SDP for its lack of creativity and for abandoning a brand that was actually meaningful.
But ultimately, the chaos began when MikeBodwin asked a question in which he mentioned the Hylix war Jeskia had declared in January 2023. Jeskia gave a response that immediately raised eyebrows, stating that "everything I've done in the past was at the time the information was giving [sic] to me, we had some ups and downs but I want to move Demarcia forward and give it a new chance".
Intense questioning began, during which Penstubal made repeated interventions trying to change the topic of the press conference or fire back against SuperMiron and MikeBodwin for their questioning.
After the press conference was over, JeskiaWeathers issued a statement apologizing for her remarks and stating she "deeply regrets" them, saying she made them "in the heat of the moment" and that she had made decisions "based on my own assessments of the situation, as well as assessments of advice I was given". Her remarks were met with criticism from SuperMiron and MikeBodwin once again, with them pressing her on who offered that advice.
Ultimately, she provided names of people who had advised her during the Hylix crisis - such as MikeBodwin, Examed and Penstubal - and insisted that she used "what I knew about Hylix at the time" to make that decision. This answer failed to satisfy SuperMiron, who wondered what it is that she knew about Hylix, but she said she couldn't remember and didn't know nearly anything about it anymore, and that it was "general knowledge".
The third JeskiaWeathers leadership, which began earlier this month and which already faced its first defeat in the presidential and parliamentary elections, is off to a rocky start as questions linger over her role in the Hylix crisis from January 2023. Further complicating matters is the very real possibility that the SDP's rebranding into the Democratic Alliance might not be as popular as its advocates within the party had anticipated, which could force the party to reconsider its decision.
