If the rumors are true that President MarcoDeVore wants to form a coalition with the Civic Unity Party despite his Social Democratic Party winning a supermajority in Parliament, then it is imperative that the party's MPs, including the party leader nilah., whom he has just nominated for Prime Minister, see through his shameful attempts to sabotage his own party.

MarcoDeVore's proposal to form a coalition, thereby leaving the country without an opposition, is not just unconventional; it is a blatant attempt to undermine the democratic process. It is clear that the President is not acting in the best interests of the SDP or the nation. Instead, he is pursuing a course that threatens to weaken the party's position and dilute its ability to govern effectively.

nilah., the SDP leader and nominee for Prime Minister, needs to step up and appoint a strong SDP government without yielding to the President's nonsensical demands. This is her moment to demonstrate true leadership and to reaffirm the party's commitment to the electorate who entrusted them with a supermajority. The President’s actions have shown that the party made the right choice by rejecting him in the leadership election last month, as he is clearly not capable of leading the SDP, if any political party at all. No serious political party decides to give away power for no apparent reason whatsoever; to do so would be to betray the voters who gave the SDP their mandate, undermining their trust and the democratic principles upon which our government is founded.

If the party leadership and MPs can stand firm, they can reduce the President with his bizarre ideas to little more than a ceremonial role, while the more competent leader, nilah., would be truly in charge of the government as Prime Minister. Should the President be unhappy with this state of affairs, he is free to call a snap election to seek a more favorable result. In reality, such a move would be likely to further expose his misguided decisions to the electorate, who will hopefully drive him out of the Presidential Palace, assuming he even manages to get on the ballot.

The SDP has a golden opportunity to solidify its position and enact meaningful change for the country. To squander this opportunity by forming an unnecessary coalition would be a betrayal of the mandate given to them by the voters. It is time for nilah. and the SDP to stand firm, reject the President’s ill-conceived coalition plan, and lead the country with the strength and vision that secured their supermajority in the first place.
