President Faces Scrutiny After Four Awards to Relatively Minor Citizen

President MikeBodwin has faced scrutiny for an award ceremony which featured him giving out four awards to the same relatively inactive citizen, Jake, as well as, reportedly, upsetting Penstubal by not putting him "in the same category as SuperMiron" with a Medal of Patriotic Service and Freedom.

In the nation's first award ceremony since May 2020, outgoing President MikeBodwin has presented a bunch of awards to citizens who have made some of the biggest contributions to Demarcian society. Those awarded include Jake, Vercetti (GeorgeChambers), Vincent_Wolff, JeskiaWeathers, MarcelSakamoto, Penstubal, SuperMiron and MikeBodwin himself.

Many of the awards have been described as rightfully deserved and way overdue acknowledgments of individuals who have transformed Demarcia as we know it. The President, in particular, has received praise for his acknowledgment of the contributions of Vercetti and Vincent_Wolff.

However, some of his awards, as well as the absence of some awards, has received some scrutiny.

Among the more minor criticisms he has received is for not awarding GeorgeHarris, whom an anonymous source has described as "one of the great people in our history". The anonymous source has also described Snowstormer as a noteworthy figure, "although his omission is fair given he's an individual from far before MikeBodwin's own time".

Some of his awards have received quite substantial criticism, however.

Notably, he has given as many as four awards to Jake, a citizen who some say certainly deserved some acknowledgment, but not to the point of receiving the nation's second highest honour. In particular, MikeBodwin has been scrutinised for giving Jake a higher award than people such as Vercetti, Vincent_Wolff and, in particular, Penstubal, who has reportedly coveted the award of SuperMiron, his biggest "friendly rival".

Still, some would say that MikeBodwin has not been particularly biased towards any single individual and has tried to give out as many awards to as many deserving individuals as possible. He has received praise for that and has also been commended for "being the first president to finally do an award ceremony after such a long, long time".
