In an unprecedented event that has left Demarcia both shocked and bewildered, Prime Minister Examed has been banned from Habboon for his involvement in a scam targeting SuperMiron.
Hours prior to this revelation, it was announced that a new leadership election would take place in the Civic Unity Party on 11 November due to Examed's decision not to seek the presidency, later revealed to have been caused by the situation which would prevent him from participating on Habboon. The CUP does not yet have a clear candidate, but Examed formally submitted his resignation from the party leadership two days later, indicating that he will not seek the presidency even if the party does not choose another nominee in the leadership election.
Examed's ban resulted from his connection to a scam carried out by his "friend," likegod, who swindled SuperMiron out of 17 million Habboon credits while selling a room. Following the scam, both likegod and Examed were banned, as the PM had accepted around 4 million of likegod's ill-gotten credits, according to his own revelation later on.
When privately questioned by Penstubal about these events, Examed denied any malicious intent and claimed a lack of agency in the situation, asserting that he did not condone the transfer of cash. However, SuperMiron later pointed out that his consent was necessary for the transfer to occur.
Furthermore, during his conversation with Penstubal, Examed claimed he was aware of likegod's scam ahead of time but chose not to warn SuperMiron, believing there was "no way Miron [would fall] for this". However, he failed to promptly inform SuperMiron that he had benefited from the scam after it unfolded.
Upon learning of the incident from Examed, Penstubal instantly took Examed's side, elevating him to the status of a Demarcian national hero and vowing to persevere with naming Arbourdon after him. He even called on President MikeBodwin to "give [him] the honors he deserves" and the title "Great Horseman of Progress". Penstubal's lavish praise of Examed hasn't aged well in light of new information, however, and it remains uncertain if Penstubal will retract his remarks.
Regardless of whether Examed was guilty of any serious misconduct - and it certainly seems he was - unless a reversal of the ban occurs, his political career has come to an end, leaving Demarcia in a state of upheaval. In Penstubal's view, Examed's career might have an even worse ending than Jeskia's presidency in January. Examed, who played a transformative role in Demarcia over the the past few months, has now, in all likelihood, left the country looking for new leaders.
