President Chop, who has been missing-in-action for weeks now and even missed his inauguration, has been declared incapacitated by the Senate. A snap election appears likely to take place in the coming thirty days.

MikeBodwin (CUP) and Penstubal (SDP), the country's only two Members of Parliament, the former being Speaker, held talks as it became clear that the Chop would be declared incapacitated. They did not disclose the content of their discussions nor whether there were any points of agreement, but MikeBodwin nominated former president Jake for Prime Minister and the Inquirer understands that he had Penstubal's support. The vote takes place on 10 December.

The ongoing saga with the incapacitated President Chop is just the latest in a long series of bad events that are the product of the country's serious inactivity crisis. As it appears, by the end of the month Chop could go down as yet another in a series of disappointing and extremely inactive presidents in Demarcia in 2023, along with MikeHawk and Jake.

If Parliament chooses a prime minister by Sunday, then the snap election will be on 6 January, assuming the President doesn't return within a week of being declared incapacitated, by 1 AM UTC on 15 December. If that fails, it will be held a week sooner, on 30 December.
