MikeHawk Inaugurated, Confusion Ensues over Speaker and PM Nominees

MikeHawk has been inaugurated as President of Demarcia.

The new President pledged to strive towards an improvement in agriculture, towards a better economy and stronger exports, and also to have a steady supply in times of need. He also looked back at the drama of the past few months, saying that "some things are better walked off from" and that he "will not penalize anyone who has been involved in the events of the past few weeks and no drastic action will be taken".

Confusion subsequently erupted when MikeHawk announced Vincent_Wolff as Prime Minister, despite having privately told Penstubal that Vercetti would remain Prime Minister. He then appeared to decide that Vercetti would be Speaker rather than Vincent_Wolff, as he initially planned, despite lacking Vercetti's consent. Plans were again changed in the last minute, with MikeHawk seemingly deciding to keep the Speakership vacant until the consent was obtained.

During the session, MikeHawk announced that the position of Prime Minister would remain vacant, despite proposing a motion to appoint Vincent_Wolff to the position. After being told by SuperMiron that "that's not what your motion says", MikeHawk proposed to make Vincent_Wolff Prime Minister. Penstubal then proposed a motion to delay the vote until the next session; this passed unanimously.

Hopes that MikeHawk would be the first president since 2021 to appoint his Cabinet on his first day were dashed as disputes arose merely minutes before the session over who the nominees would even be as drama continues to ravage the SDP, albeit in a much more quiet form now.
