Less than a day after toetotoe's appointment as Prime Minister of Demarcia, President MikeBodwin is already distancing from the laundry list of promises he made at a press conference late last night, stating his expectation that some will be fulfilled while others will be difficult to.
"In these cases some of the things will be done, but a lot of it including Activity driven ones are difficult," BNTV News quotes the President as saying. "People mean to get these done for the good of Demarcia. They do become ammunition. However, I will leave it to the Prime Minister to fulfill his promises, while I will do mine."
In his first press conference, the Prime Minister was already scrutinized over the seemingly endless amount of promises made, with the Demarcian Inquirer's Laura Cooper questioning him and comparing him to previous Demarcian leaders, such as President Jake, who have made many promises yet failed to fulfill almost a single one, if any at all.
The list of promises made by the Prime Minister includes:
Building an embassy and foreign relations in general;
Building a police station in Arbourdon, and hiring two new police officers at Dodoville's police station, which would have "an active environment here in Demarcia, if you know what I mean ;)";
Building new roads and communities within the nation;
Building four schools - two primary schools, two secondary schools, one each in both Dodoville and Arbourdon;
Achieving treasury growth of at least 30%;
Building a national museum;
Building a national park as well as "3 other parks";
Building a hospital in Dodoville and establishing a health insurance guideline;
Establishing a new agency called the "Labour Board";
Increasing the population by 30.
One promise PM toetotoe didn't make was to finish the fire station which has been planned since the summer of 2020, back under Penstubal's presidency. Multiple presidents from Penstubal onwards have broken their promises to finish the fire station.
