JeskiaWeathers Resigns the Presidency

JeskiaWeathers has resigned as President of Demarcia following her failure to pass her early election act in a lengthy and chaotic Parliament session.

The President said that the country has come to a standstill and stated that she has no choice but to "pass the torch". She once again apologized to the people of Hylix because of her actions with regards to it, and expressed her hope that the person who takes over ends up being the "best person for the job", while lamenting double standards.

Vercetti (GeorgeChambers) takes over as acting President.

Penstubal thanked Jeskia for her service to the country, stating that she "fought long and hard but, unfortunately, sometimes things don't go exactly your way". Penstubal also expressed his belief that JeskiaWeathers has lost this battle but not the war, and that she will never be kicked out of the arena.

"I know Jeskia very well", he said, "She's a fighter. A fighter also knows when a specific battle is in vain, but commits to a strategy and plans out the wider war. Jeskia is not yet over. Jeskia will live, and she will triumph over those who had underestimated her!"

SuperMiron, the President of the Senate, offered a statement of his own.

"I would like to thank now-former President JeskiaWeathers for her service to our country, and for her courage to do something no President has done before in the history of our country – acknowledging that her government can no longer function and resigning from our country's highest office, thus giving up her personal ambitions for the good of the country", said SuperMiron.

He then added: "At the same time, I would encourage her to consider a full-time return to local politics in Dodoville; it has become clear that after her resignation as Mayor to focus on her presidential ambitions, things have only gone downhill here, and she has been replaced by a person who is clearly not interested in fulfilling the promises he has made to the people of Dodoville".

MikeBodwin, the President's biggest rival, also issued a statement of his own.

"The President today has done what was needed. It has come to be presented that half of Parliament does not see things as she does. Her Government was in chaos and the solution was not passed. The President has done what was needed, she has done it for her country. I applaud her for doing what she thought, and what other politicians had said they felt must be done."

JeskiaWeathers's resignation represents the culmination of a long and unprecedented month of chaos in Demarcian politics.
