Jeskia's Transparency Act has passed after a prolonged, heated debate in the most chaotic Parliament session in the country's history.
The Transparency Act finally unanimously passed through Parliament, but not without substantial changes from what had originally been written. The Transparency Act initially included a 90-day ban on lobbying of Members of Parliament and Cabinet members after their leaving office, as well as a limit of up to two terms overall for presidents. However, after a prolonged debate and several amendments proposed by different Members of Parliament, the ban on lobbying was reduced to just 30 days, and the term limit was changed to two consecutive terms rather than two terms overall.
The Parliament session was 1 hour and 15 minutes long, and the debate on the Transparency Act lasted for around 50 minutes. The session faced multiple difficulties, including being adjourned one time and disrupted once by the sudden vanishing of Members of Parliament.
Following the passage of the Transparency Act, President GeorgeChambers' amendment to the Business Incentives and Economic Development Act, increasing the number of credits to be given to new businesses from 2500 to 5000 credits, passed as well, with Vice President hircine being the only holdout voting against it.
