The Demarcian Government has condemned the violence in Israel and Palestine according to a statement released by hircine, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The full statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs reads:

The Government of the Republic of Demarcia strongly condemns the ongoing

violence in Israel and Palestine.

We condemn the conduct of both sides during this time period and believe that

the behavior is not helpful towards the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and

risks further inflaming division, as well as potentially bringing the world to the

brink of a world war.

We also forcefully condemn the behavior of the Israeli government in its

indiscriminate bombing and targeting of civilian locations in Gaza and the West

Bank, the bombing of the offices of Al-Jazeera, the AP and other news outlets in

Gaza, ongoing evictions of Palestinian families in the West Bank, as well as

their violations of the ceasefire that was brokered just over the last three days,

with renewed violence at the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

The government and people of Demarcia urge the Israeli government to cease

such reckless behaviour and for both sides in the conflict to come together and

to work with the international community on resolving their differences. Further

violence will only worsen the situation and cause hardship for hundreds of

thousands of innocent men, women and children.

The world must come together to declare its solidarity with the plight of

innocent civilians, Israeli and Palestinian, Jewish and Muslim, in this terrible

decades-long conflict.

Tensions have been rising in the last three weeks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. It remains to be seen how far the tensions would escalate and whether peace could be reached in this incredibly turbulent region.
