For the first time in history, a President has officially announced their resignation in their very inaugural address.
Having been sworn in as President for a second consecutive term, President GeorgeChambers, in his inaugural address, discussed his political future and announced his decision to stand down from the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, touting Jeskia, his Vice President and his party's Deputy Leader, as his successor, stating his belief that "she will nurture this term more, together with me".
The President has not announced the timeframe within which he will be stepping aside. However, he did tearfully announce that, although he will not stay on for long, during this upcoming term "more and more bills will be worked on, more and more establishments to develop" and that he will try to do even more than was done last term.
