BusyHustler has officially submitted his candidacy for the leadership of the Civic Unity Party.
"I am running for the leadership of the CUP because my colleagues and I firmly believe it is time for a new fresh face to unite behind" said the politician, "Long gone are the days of Vincent_Wolf and even MikeBodwin, the former Green Party leader. I commend them for their service, but it is time for a new succession to take place".
The candidate vying to succeed President MikeBodwin went on to tout his experience in government as evidence he would do well as his party's next leader and country's next president.
"I am the by far the best candidate as I've served as Education Minister and before then I have served as Minister of Justice and Interior. I hold a seat in parliament as a Speaker and I've gained adequate experience in government, long enough to understand its workings."
BusyHustler then expressed his belief that people might remember him "as the previous candidate at the last [leadership] election", acknowledging he lost by "only one vote" but that "it is generally agreed by my party members that I should lead them in the next general election", claiming to have the support of the outgoing President and that under his leadership, the party would be united.
"The CUP's ideology would be this: country first, party second", he added confidently, "My plans are to help out fellow Demarcian citizens suffering in this energy crisis caused by a tyrannical Russia. I wish Demarcia to have its own national energy companies, to build more homes to house those who have no where to go. The value of our currency has weakened, I wish to combat inflation and introduce new jobs and schools to the society. Finally it is my goal to make sure I run an effective government, Ministers will be held to account for their actions. In a time of great need, we can't afford to have idleness".
Jeskia is rumoured to be considering a leadership bid as well; however, no confirmation has come from her yet on that matter, and some have opined that Jeskia would drop her bid if BusyHustler ran (as he is) for the sake of party unity.
