Interview: toetotoe (Examed), SoDEA Presidential Candidate

INTERVIEWER (Laura Cooper): Firstly, thank you for agreeing to an interview with us, Mr. toetotoe (Examed). It is lovely to have you here.

TOETOTOE: It's lovely for you to have me. :)

INTERVIEWER: What is it that made you decide to run for President of Demarcia? Why do you believe you are the right person for the job?

TOETOTOE: I'm very much motivated and excited for the role, but more importantly, I've done various major things for the country, such as owning multiple businesses which are providing jobs to the people of Demarcia, in purpose of helping us further grow the economy day by day.

INTERVIEWER: Why do you oppose MikeHawk as President of Demarcia? It is quite interesting that you joined Penstubal and JeskiaWeathers in founding the Social Democratic Electoral Action. Can you tell me - why exactly is that? Do you dislike MikeHawk personally, or dislike the direction of his leadership?

TOETOTOE: No, I don't dislike MikeHawk in any way, but I joined the Social Democratic Electoral Action to work with people I'm more favorable of.

INTERVIEWER: But why do you not find Mr. MikeHawk to be as favorable? Is there anything specific that dampened your attitudes towards him? According to multiple witnesses, you two fell out on a private communication channel between Social Democratic Party members once, fighting over whether a war with Kolvo had occurred, with him calling you a "fucking baboon". Is this true and did it in any way affect your decision on whether or not to run?

TOETOTOE: He's only not favorable because I'm not familiar with MikeHawk and don't know his plans to help the country. Nothing dampened my opinion on MikeHawk because I have no opinion on him as we've never had a conversation, and the Kolvo situation was solved before he took the leadership of the SDP, with the help of Captain Johnson from Kolvo. Hawk and I never had a conversation where he called me a "fucking baboon".

INTERVIEWER: Where do you stand ideologically? You are a member of the Social Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Electoral Action, both centre-left and progressive parties. Do you consider yourself a moderate person or do you consider yourself fairly progressive and left-wing, and if so, how much?

TOETOTOE: I'm a progressive guy for sure. I believe in the betterment of the country by making decisions that are best for the people of the nation.

INTERVIEWER: What are your ideas to improve this country, your general ideas, not necessarily policies although you can talk about that too, if you want? What will make a President toetotoe different from previous presidents?

TOETOTOE: My ideas are simple - to develop Demarcia to be a better nation. My goal for Demarcia is to grow its economy and open it up more for the rest of the world to be included.

INTERVIEWER: Where do you stand on nuclear weapons? It is an incredibly crucial issue. As you know, MikeBodwin, when he was President, introduced them by referendum in the fall of 2022. Opposition to them has come primarily from the Social Democratic Party, including from you, if I recall correctly. Would you elaborate your stance?

TOETOTOE: Nuclear weapons aren't what's important right now for Demarcia. We have bigger fish to fry, it's a waste of time.

INTERVIEWER: Do you believe the nuclear deterrent act should be repealed? If so, why?

TOETOTOE: Yes, I do believe the nuclear deterrent act should be repealed. Nukes aren't a concern for us right now, we have more developing to do as a nation.

INTERVIEWER: You have both been lauded yet also criticized for your handling of the situation with Hylix. Penstubal has praised you endlessly, saying you are a great diplomat, while MikeBodwin has apparently fiercely criticized you, both in public but especially in private. He believes you have no idea what you're doing, to put it mildly. How do you address those concerns about your personal capabilities?

TOETOTOE: MikeBodwin can't talk about people not knowing what they're doing when he's a bad politician and has been in the opposition for some time now because of that. He's not a winner. I was part of the reason why the Hylix situation was solved, how could I not know what I'm doing?

INTERVIEWER: And, finally, name one really good quality of yours and name one bad quality.

TOETOTOE: One good quality about me is that I'm consistent with my goals, and one bad quality is I'm a self critic.
