INTERVIEWER (Penstubal): Hello, Mr. GeorgeChambers, and welcome to the Demarcian Inquirer's interview before the May elections. Do you feel sexy to be here?
GEORGECHAMBERS: Never been sexier!
INTERVIEWER: Alright. So the first question I would like to ask you, is regarding the Social Democratic Party's tenure. You have been in power almost uninterruptedly since February 2020, and have dominated both in the presidential and parliamentary elections. Don't you think it is time for some change, rather than an SDP president again?
GEORGECHAMBERS: Change is a very confusing topic to discuss during these election time. It can always be good or bad. But what change does the people of Demarcia really need? If this change would mean failure or any mean of harm to the country and the people in it, then that change must go to scraps! What change we really need is reforms, in government and policies all over, and SDP have been offering that ever since we assumed office. So why trust any other parties out there? If the current government given that to you for almost a year
INTERVIEWER: So what change are the Social Democrats offering now? Change doesn't mean just yelling the word "change" - it means actually going through with it. So tell me what are the party's plans for change?
GEORGECHAMBERS: If I will knock back into memories ever since I assumed a particular office back in March 2020, I proposed a revision on the Healthcare Act that extends free health care even up to Nursery Homes, leaving the people zero duties to pay. Now, what I am eyeing inside SDP now ever since I stepped up as its leader is that to have new names. New names to lead the Party itself, so that we can also have new and fresh minds working in our Parliament, the Cabinet, and even at the Palace. New minds that will help me set new reforms and policies.
INTERVIEWER: I see. So tell me, with regards to policy though, the Social Democrats have recently gotten remarkably boring and unimpressive. Their last few manifestos haven't been anywhere near as ambitious as their February 2020 and May 2020 manifestos, and this time you don't have a real manifesto at all. So what are your policy ideas? What do you have new to bring to Demarcia? What specifically will President GeorgeChambers do?
GEORGECHAMBERS: To start, I'll encourage all the citizens of Demarcia to open their businesses, macro and micro, and the government will subsidize EVEN HIGHER amounts of money just to compensate their need in order to establish a firmly working business inside of Demarcia. And we will work on making the daily wage of 1,500 credits as stated in the Labour Act up to even higher amount, 2,000-2,500 credits maybe. We will also try to make a new working system of "flexi-time". For example the worker's schedule is 8am-5pm, with flexi-time, they can go to work at 9am-6pm if emergency things happened that made them late for work. As with the COVID-19 response, we will continue vaccination even though we've reached herd immunity so that life can go back to normal as soon as possible. New infrastructures are being talked about, like the Demarcian State Prison, Demarcian Air Force Base, and many more will be at talks as the time goes by.
INTERVIEWER: I see. Thank you. And I would also like to ask you - why should the voters trust you and elect you as the successor of President Vincent_Wolff, of all candidates? What is the difference between you and what you have to offer, and the opposition candidates and what they have to offer?
GEORGECHAMBERS: As I've always said, I hope you are not getting irritated to it mister, my compassion to those who are in need is always on fire. Vincent_Wolff on the other hand have done so many valuable things for this government. But I will try to go even more of what Vince had ran through and do my best to finish what Vince, and the SDP, have started. As for my difference to the opposition candidates, I have been a member of the Parliament and the Cabinet for roughly a year now. I have proven of something worth "trusting" for, for Demarcia and its people.
INTERVIEWER: I see. So what do you believe is the future of Demarcia? What generally does the Social Democratic Party have left to do in 'reshaping' Demarcia? I'm not talking specifically policy right now, but as a country - what is there to transform? Or is the transformation complete, with only minor tweaks to be made? Because the Social Democrats have come to be identified as the party of the status quo rather than of change. Would you say they are right and again, why or why not and what is there to transform?
GEORGECHAMBERS: The fight isn't over in terms of reshaping Demarcia. We have a lot to build specifically within the government. I always believed that every man should work with each other REGARDLESS of their color and party. Demarcia is still lacking that sense of common ground to shape new ideas and transforming it into a progress for each other. And to answer if we are a party of status quo rather than of change, definitely not. In fact there is an ongoing change inside of SDP. Me stepping up as a leader and pursuing the presidential elections, is a big change inside the party, and these changes can be applied to in the Demarcian government by the SDP.
INTERVIEWER: Alright, thank you. And finally, I would like to ask you something very important to our country today. The country is currently more divided than it has been in the last year and a half. The Social Democrats absolutely blew out the opposition in February 2021, but now, both opposition parties are mounting a major comeback. How will you bring the nation back together, and how will you appeal to those voters the Social Democrats appear to be losing to the DNP and Green surges? And what do you think might be the cause of their surges? And is the SDP in any way at fault for that?
GEORGECHAMBERS: Simple. The Social Democrats are still at your service and will always be at your service even when the time comes. Would they trust those people who haven't proven anything yet? Or would they still be with the person (me) who stood by their side and helped Demarcia in all possible ways? And definitely ready to offer GOOD changes in all aspect of the government and the country? Maybe the fact that TylerHarris, hircine, and me are all charismatic that's why the surge happened and the people are excited that there are new faces to lead the government. SDP has quite somehow have a fault with these, we've become inactive for quite a while now but definitely ready to bring the blast again!
INTERVIEWER: The question though is how will you bring the nation back together? How will you reconcile the differences that are now becoming apparent and exist? The upcoming election might become our closest in history, and for that reason, it is important to know that.
GEORGECHAMBERS: I will reach through the people and get them to vote for the party that had served long enough to prove its worth and say Social Democrats is the best way to go forward! I'll reach through them even one by one and by all means necessary. Just to save our country from losing its chance on a more better living.
INTERVIEWER: What about those who do not support the party? How will you reach out to them, to other parties and those who disagree with you, to bring about solutions to the many issues facing our country? Will you stand ready to compromise when necessary?
GEORGECHAMBERS: Of course even non-SDP members and supporters would feel and enjoy of what an SDP leader have to offer. And I'd be grateful to cooperate with the opposition if this means progress for Demarcia. Even if I lose this presidential election, I'd be happy to offer my service to whoever the leader would be and work with them with all my compassion. As I've always said we all have to work altogether regardless of our principles and views. Thank you.
INTERVIEWER: Alright. Thank you very much sir, and good luck in the upcoming elections.
GEORGECHAMBERS: Thank you for your time and have a great day!
